The Center for Liberal Studies at Clarkson University (Potsdam, NY) will present the second annual conference to explore Microcomputers and the Learning Process from October 13 to 15, 1985.
The conference will feature invited keynote speakers as well as software displays and demonstrations much more extensive than those presented last year. Conference sessions will have a workshop structure, and papers should include illustrations and demonstrations whenever possible. There should be an emphasis on evaluation when programs are described. Key questions this year include the following:
Curricular:
How have colleges successfully integrated the computer into their current curricula? Where have they found funding? How have they managed faculty involvement in such programs?
Political:
Does increasing computer education bridge or widen the gap between different segments of our society?
CAI:
What's new and how is it working? Is there more to the computer in education than drill and practice?
Creative:
How can one design a computerized curriculum which requires students
to be creative, to explore and analyze as well as respond?
Artistic:
What's new in the computer arts--poetry, graphics, interactive fiction.
