Conference

The 1990 conference on Composition, Cognition, and Computers will be held on April 27, 1990. The conference will focus on pedagogical theory and practice in the computerized writing classroom. Teachers of writing will exchange ideas through panel discussions primarily concentrating on two topics:

The program offers guest speakers, including D. Midian Kurland, Senior Scientist at the Education Development Center. Dr. Kurland, former Director of Software Development for Bank Street College, currently designs computerized tools for group writing and for learning in the area of science and writing. Also provided will be panel discussions, software demonstrations, and hands-on use of computers in a networked classroom led by NYIT faculty.

Conference

The Fifth World Conference on Computers in Education (WCCE/90), organized under the auspices of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), will be held in Sydney, Australia, July 9-13, 1990. Held only every five years, and for the first time in Australia, WCCE/90 will be a conference for all aspects of computer-related education in all education environments. Conference

The Twelfth Annual Conference of the East Central Writing Centers Association will be held April 20-21 at Indiana State University. The title of the conference is Bridging Learning Communities. The keynote speaker is Douglas Hunt from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Hunt will be giving a paper entitled. "The Mythology of Discourse Communities."
