New Computers and Composition Awards:

Best Dissertation on Computers and Composition
Best Article on Computers and Composition

Computers and Composition proudly announces competitions for two new prizes that mark outstanding contributions to the field of computers and composition studies.

The first of these awards will be given for the best dissertation in the field of computer and composition studies, completed during the past three years (1987-1990). To be considered, entrants should submit a summary manuscript describing their dissertation research. The manuscript should be no longer than 30 pages and must be submitted by August 15, 1990.

The second of our new awards will be given for best published article in the field of computer and composition studies for the 1989-1990 academic year. To be considered, nominations must be submitted by authors or other scholars in the profession. Along with two copies of the xeroxed article which identify where and when the piece was originally published, please include a statement about why the submitted article merits this award. Nominations with letter and xeroxed article should be submitted no later than August 15, 1990.

Members of the editorial board of Computers and Composition will be the judges in both competitions. Winners will be notified by January 15, 1991, and awards will be presented at the seventh Computers and Writing Conference to be held in Biloxi, Mississippi, in May 1991. Each prize carries a cash award of $150. Please submit manuscripts and nominations for both awards to,
